IdentityLink™ Data Marketplace is an open, secure and transparent marketplace which makes it easy to buy and sell data – all with a single contract

SYDNEY, October 9, 2018LiveRamp (NYSE:RAMP) the identity platform that powers exceptional experiences, today announced the launch of its IdentityLink™ Data Marketplace in the Asia Pacific region. The neutral data marketplace enables the ethical use of information for both data sellers and buyers in a privacy-conscious environment. Australia and Japan are the first two markets to go live with the new feature, fuelling the company’s regional expansion strategy.

Through IdentityLink™ Data Marketplace, data sellers can easily manage and monetise their data across more than 100+ platforms globally whilst still maintaining control of how the data is being used. On the other hand, buyers can now access over more than 20 in-region and 180 leading data providers globally. The data providers offer a wide range of ethically-sourced and privacy-conscious transactional data as well as in-market, behavioural, geolocation and demographic information. LiveRamp works with data partners such as Roy Morgan, Experian, Factual, Greater Data and Eight Dragons Digital to enable businesses to find the exact data needed to engage with the right individual, all within a single contract. Additionally, marketers will be able to access more than 3,500 digital audience segments across a large range of industry verticals, broadening their target audience horizon.

According to IDC forecasts, by 2025 the global data sphere will grow to over 10 times the amount of information generated in 2016.

“The exponential growth of data means that the diversity of data sources will only continue to grow, leading to serious data and market fragmentation. Marketers are also struggling with cross-device identity and understanding how they can meaningfully and accurately map a consumer back to a specific touchpoint. All these have resulted in a chaotic marketplace for data buyers and sellers alike,” said Dean Capobianco, Managing Director, Asia Pacific Emerging Markets, LiveRamp.

“LiveRamp’s IdentityLink™ Data Marketplace is a feature to unlock and connect data silos through one single platform,” he added. “Australia boasts a sophisticated advertising market and is maturing very quickly towards people-based marketing. The launch of the IdentityLink™ Data Marketplace aims to meet the demand we’re seeing from marketers locally and globally, who require people-based data and want the flexibility to use this data across LiveRamp’s network of integrated partners.

Organisations looking to monetise their data can easily make their data accessible through IdentityLink™ Data Marketplace and buyers are able to source exact data they need to reach their target audience and improve their understanding of consumers.

The IdentityLink™ Data Marketplace brings to marketers four key benefits:

– Strong data governance: LiveRamp maintains a strict policy around data privacy to ensure any information being used is sourced ethically. All data partners are thoroughly vetted and must be privacy-conscious before becoming a certified partner. Lastly, all data is refreshed in the store every one to three months to ensure all data sets are up to date and information is being used for the correct purpose.

– Full autonomy over data: The Data Marketplace is an open and transparent data marketplace which offers the seller full control over the data they supply and how it is being used in a privacy-conscious environment. Data providers can upload data with ease and regulate who buys the information as well.

– Data customisation in a single contract: Traditionally, data buyers need to sign multiple contracts with every data seller they engage with. Now, organisations can seamlessly navigate through the Data Marketplace, as it allows for much quicker and accurate data buying and selling in today’s fast-paced digital world. Data buyers can access over 180 data providers globally all within a single contract and explore customised data sets that are tailored exactly to your goals and audiences. This allows for a more efficient way to source for data whilst offering a customised experience.

-Data monetisation in more places: The extensive network of platform integrations in the Data Marketplace will allow data sellers to begin monetising their data easily and in more places. Marketers can easily activate people-based data across the digital ecosystem and find the exact data they need to drive impactful advertising campaigns.

“Data is travelling through every medium possible today. Also, consumers are becoming more perceptive around where to source information and what advertising they want to be exposed to. What marketers want today is getting the message quick and safe to their target audience. LiveRamp’s IdentityLink™ Data Marketplace is one step closer to helping marketers achieve this goal,” said Ben Moreau, Innovation & Strategy Director, Innovation Hub, Asia Pacific at Experian. “The Data Marketplace will encourage data buyers and sellers to rethink the way they approach marketing, enable more data sourcing innovation and create better experiences for consumers.”

The IdentityLink™ Data Marketplace is available starting today at no cost. Charges are only applied if marketers use the data – the cost is set by the data provider and made transparent on the platform.
